Wet Area Productive Buffer Bundle

$50.00
sold out

The Wet Area Productive Bundle includes pussy willow, elderberry, winterberry, highbush cranberry, and white cedar. One bundle will cover approx 1800 ft² approx. 15’ spacing.

A productive buffer cleans the water, holds stream banks in place, and provides wildlife habitat, while growing edible food crops. This bundle includes species that will thrive in moist to wet soils along stream banks. The pussy willow is crucial for early-season pollinators and is a good soil stabilizer. Elderberry, winterberry, and highbush cranberry (viburnum) provide berries for wildlife and potential human harvest (some require processing). In riparian zones, white cedars are great streambank stabilizers, helping to prevent erosion, while providing shade for cold-water streams. White cedars also provide significant value to wildlife and riparian areas by offering critical winter shelter for deer, food for various species, and habitat for birds and small mammals.

Note: Winterberry needs a separate male pollinator plant nearby to produce berries. See the winterberry listing for more details.
