Shiitake logs are a natural fit for multifunctional landscapes, supporting food production while making the most of forest and edge environments. Already familiar with mushroom cultivation or just want to get started withOUT the class? This offering  includes one pre-inoculated shiitake mushroom log, no workshop required!

Each log is a hardwood bolt (oak or sugar maple) inoculated with shiitake spawn and labeled for identification. This is a ready-to-care-for product, ideal for backyard growers, woodland edges, or shaded buffer areas.

Good fit for you if: 1) Have prior mushroom-growing experience, 2) Attended a workshop in the past, and 3) Want to add productive elements to your landscape without additional instruction.

Interested in attending the Shiitake Mushroom Inoculation Workshop if space becomes available? If the workshop does not fill with “learning-only” participants, additional seats may open for customers who purchase a mushroom log only. How the waitlist works: Waitlisted customers will be notified of any open workshop spaces the week of April 6, 2026 (after the order deadline). Workshop spaces will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If you choose to claim an open spot, you will be billed for the remaining workshop cost at that time.
