Led by Ian Johnson of Interlace Commons, this 2.5-hour interactive class covers the full lifecycle of shiitake mushrooms and the practical skills needed to grow them successfully in Northern New England conditions. Participants will observe and practice inoculation techniques.

What you will learn: 1) How to select appropriate logs for mushroom cultivation, 2) How to inoculate logs using different spawn methods, 3) How to store and manage logs for moisture and productivity, and 4) Gain an understanding of fruiting timelines and harvesting approaches.

Important Note: This offering is instructional only and will not include any take-home materials. The workshop will take place on Sat, May 2, 10am-12:30pm on Plant Sale Pick Up Day. Quantities are limited, pre-order only. All sales are final; no refunds, replacements, or substitutions.
