Its taste can range between sweet to tart, and the fruit is similar to a small peach with a firm flesh. The tree is self pollinating, but will produce best when in presence of other species in the prunus genus, such as wild black cherry, chokecherry, and American plum. It prefers a well-drained soil and full sunlight. It will thrive protected from wind. Zones: 5-8
