(2-3’ bare root) Cephalanthus occidentali - Also known as buttonwillow, globe flower, or honey balls, buttonbush is native throughout the eastern half of North America. It will grow 3-6′ tall in the northern part of its range. Its leaves grow opposite or whorled in threes or fours around stem, with an autumn color of dull yellow or green. It is relatively pest free. It has an interesting white flower in late summer, and the nectar is enjoyed by hummingbirds. Buttonbush likes swampy areas but will grow on dryer ground as well. It requires periodic rejuvenation pruning. Zones: 5-10
