Butternut

$23.00
sold out

(12-18” bare root) Juglans cinerea Also known as white walnut, the butternut is a vigorous tree native to eastern North America. It was everywhere in Vermont in the past, but no longer! Butternut is under attack by a canker disease that is destroying the native populations. Planting butternut seedlings is important to help preserve the existing genetics before they are all gone. This seed is selected from what the grower believes to be pure butternut showing little to no sign of blight. Zones: 3-7
