It produces large ruby red apples that won't brown. With white flowers in mid-April, apples ripen in mid-September. Cortland apples are crisp, tart and sweetly perfumed, and great for pies and cider. This self-pollinating apple tree is a great option because it is reliable and bears heavy crops each season. It does not require a pollinator.  Zone: 4-6
